On Saturday evening, all roads led to the Golden Glory hall of Karnavati club on SG Highway. Gathered under one roof were the who's who of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar- spiritual leader Morari Bapu, top IAS officers, including the chief secretary, additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, secretaries, deputy secretaries, district collectors, other officers of state secretariat, ministers of state cabinet, veteran writers and poets of Gujarati literature fraternity and artists.
The occasion was to celebrate the release of two new ghazal collections of poet Harsh Brahmbhatt, who happens to be an additional secretary in the general administration department of state government.
The evening started with soulful beats on tabla by disciples of Pt Divyang Vakil after Morari Bapu, escorted by Harsh Brahmbhatt arrived at the hall. The Ramayana orator, the poet accompanied by two of his contemporaries Rajesh Vyas 'Miskin' and Shobhit Desai and veteran humour writer Vinod Bhatt formally released the Ghazal collections 'Khud ne ya kyan Malyo chhu?' in Gujarati and 'Mera Apnaa Aasmaan' in Urdu. These are the fifth Gujarati and third Urdu collection of poetry by Brahmbhatt.
Blessing the poet, Morari Bapu said, "He is not like the officer who scares other. Had he been so, neither would such a big gathering have convened here nor would his poetry be so full of life. I wish such poetry continues to flow from his pen."
The book release did not take more than five minutes. Later, poet Rajesh Vyas 'Miskin' said, "Generally, after one or two poetry collections, the poet ceases to be a poet and becomes everything like stage presenter, editor and compiler. It is a pleasant surprise that Harsh has kept writing constantly. He surpasses himself once again."
Shobhit Desai, Mumbai-based Gujarati poet, talked about the poet's ghazals.
