Heavy rains likely in south, central, north Gujarat: IMD

Parts across all districts of the state, including Kutch district, will receive light to moderate showers during these days

Parts of south, central and north Gujarat will get heavy rains till Thursday, the India Meteorological Department (imd) said. Parts in the entire state will get widespread rains, it said. Ahmedabad city will continue to get light rains amid cloudy weather. Heavy rains have taken a break in the state as only 34 talukas recorded rains up to 6 pm, said a report.

Parts across all districts of the state, including Kutch district, will receive light to moderate showers during these days. "Heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Navsari, Valsad and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli," IMD said for Tuesday, while on Wednesday, heavy rains are likely to advance to central Gujarat and then to north Gujarat.

Both intensity and spread of rains in the state have taken a break in the state. According to a report of State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), only 34 talukas recorded rains till 6:00 pm on Monday.
