With the government failing to act against corruption, Anna Hazare will sit for yet another three-day fast in Mumbai. Supporting his movement against corruption are the young and the old from Ahmedabad who will agitate in the city for the next three days. Supporters will also participate in the 'jail bharo' andolan on December 30.

Currently, there are two groups in Ahmedabad supporting Hazare in his fight against corruption -India against Corruption (IAC), Ahmedabad chapter, and UVA Azadi movement. According to convenors of both the organisations, the 'jail bharo' andolan is garnering lot of support from across the city.

"We have planned surprise programs on all three days, starting December 27. The 'jail bharo' program is on December 30. We have asked people to register themselves with us either through SMS or online for this program," IAC, Ahmedabad chapter, convenor, Sanjay Joshi said.

IAC veteran Chandrakant Barot will sit on a three-day fast along with Hazare. In addition, there will be 11 supporters joining him for one-day fasts on all three days. Team IAC would be seated at I-T Circle, Town Hall and Vastrapur Lake, but all the surprise programs will take place at the I-T Circle.

Around 20 senior citizens from UVA Azadi would be sitting on 72-hour-fast along with Hazare. Convenor Manish Brahmbhatt said, "Since major venues have been taken up by another organisation supporting Hazare, we will sit outside Sardar Patel Stadium. Besides this, programs have also been planned for other areas in the city to bring together as many youths as possible."

Brahmbhatt said there would be a road show, maha rally and candle light march at Vastrapur lake as well as tiranga yatra and Shanknath program in addition to other smaller programs.
Till now 1,762 people have registered with UVA for the 'jail bharo' andolan whereas IAC has received 1,300 SMSes for the same. The online registrations have yet not been counted.
