Key conspirator in LRD paper leak case arrested from Delhi

The accused revealed that he was provided with a solved paper of the LRD exam two days prior to the examination.

On Saturday, during a joint operation conducted by Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Gujarat, Ahmedabad crime branch and Delhi police arrested the main conspirator and leader in the LRD paper leak case, Virendra Mathur from Rohini area of Delhi.

During the interrogation, the accused revealed that he was provided with a solved paper of the LRD exam two days prior to the examination. In exchange he was to pay Rs 1 crore to Vinay Arora and Vinod Chikkara, both arrested by crime branch.

Further investigation revealed that Virendra contacted Monu from Gujarat, who with the help of his associate made arrangements for the students from Gujarat to travel to Delhi. Virendra had made an advance payment of Rs 7.99 lakh. As per officials, on December 2, Virendra got a call from Arora saying that paper was cancelled. After the news was spread, Virendra changed his appearance and moved out of his house to hide from the cops. The investigation also revealed that Virendra was involved in other paper leak too.

The LRD recruitment exam on December 2, 2018, was cancelled after an official got to know about the paper leak. The new dates of the exam were fixed for January 6. So far police have arrested a total of 15 people in related to the case.
