As the newly elected candidates get ready to represent you for the next five years, DNA reviews the credentials and promises of each so you know what to expect from their term governing your constituency. Today, the focus is on Shailesh Parmar.
Parmar, who has been elected from Danilimda for the second time, specifically spoke about seeking a solution to the health concerns surrounding the Pirana dumping site, which is blamed for polluting the air in the constituency. "Pirana is a major risk to the well-being of the people residing near it. I have raised this question a lot of times in the assembly house. I will keep hammering on the issue for a solution," Parmar said.
In 2012, he won by a margin of 14,300 votes. Five years later, he has won from the same seat by a margin of 32,500. He believes that a direct connect to the local people has contributed to his popularity and raised his vote share from last time.
