Man held with a knife in shoes at Gujarat airport

The accused has been identified as Minazul Siddique Ali Rehman was arrested by the CISF jawan while he was about to board a flight to Guwahati.

A 21-year-old man was arrested by police on for allegedly concealing a knife in his shoes at Sardar Vallabhbahi domestic on Wednesday afternoon.

The accused has been identified as Minazul Siddique Ali Rehman was arrested by the CISF jawan while he was about to board a flight to Guwahati. Primary investigation revealed that Minazul was working in a textile factory located in Surat and a native of Dhubri district of Assam. 

On Wednesday afternoon at around 1.35pm, during the security check, Uttam Goswami, a sub-inspector executive of CISF stopped Minazul after they found something suspicious hidden inside his right shoe. 

While checking the shoes, officials recovered a knife from the shoe and he was nabbed on the spot. Regarding the matter, Aiport police were informed he was handover to them for further investigation. 

As per police during the primary interrogation, it was revealed that Minazul was going to Assam to meet his mother who is ill right now and due to flood his house condition is not well. 

This was the first time he was going to travel in a fight, When asked about the knife, he said he was unaware of it inside the shoes and told it might have accidentally fallen inside the shoe while he was working in the factory.
