The AMC’s monthly general board meeting on Friday revolved only around politics where the board members discussed their political leaders and not people’s issues or problems. A huge ruckus broke out when Mayor Bijal Patel asked, “Were you managing with joker?” to Badruddin Shaikh, in response to the former leader of opposition saying that now Priyanka Gandhi is on the field.
House members started sloganeering against each other. When DNA contacted the mayor, she admitted that she had said those words. “I said this in response when former LoP said that now Priyanka Gandhi is on the field. I asked them, were you managing with joker till now? I didn’t name anyone. Now, what do I do if they have taken it for someone? I said that in a general sense,” said Patel.
While Congress members have asked for an apology from the mayor for using the word “joker” in the house, the mayor insisted on an apology from the leader of opposition Dinesh Sharma.
