Dr Kirit Somaiya, national secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has demanded recall of Governor Dr Kamla. He also sought probe against her in the alleged Rs1,000 crore land scam in Rajasthan. Somaiya has also decided to make representation against the governor before President Pratibha Patil.
A former Rajya Sabha MP, Somaiya was in the city on Tuesday.
Briefing the media at the Gujarat state BJP office, he said, "Dr Kamla has provided false information that she is a farmer and worked on a farm daily for 16 hours. She tried to grab the land and even the co-operative registrar of Jaipur has passed strictures against her," the former MP said. "She should immediately submit her resignation or the president should recall her from the post of Governor of Gujarat," Somaiya said.
