Amid the rapidly growing demand for Electric Vehicles (EV) in India, two-wheeler company LML has started preparations for a comeback in a new avatar. The company that once wooed the Indian market with its sports bikes and affordable scooters, is now going to enter the electric vehicle market.
LML will soon return under the name of LML Electric. Currently, it is working on the planning and strategy of its new product launch. At the same time, it is analysing the mood of the electric market, so that the needs of the customers can be understood. The electric scooters or motorcycles that are currently in the market are either priced out of the budget of the common man, or they do not have the features that people want. But LML aims to satisfy its customers completely.
Yogesh Bhatia, Managing Director and CEO, LML Electric based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh said, “We are very excited to be back and our upcoming products will be the latest in technology as well as look design. In the coming times, we are trying to provide better and affordable commute options to the middle class. We will soon launch electric bikes as well as electric scooters. We are trying to launch our products in early 2022."
It is noteworthy that in 1983, Lohia Machinery Limited (LML) joined hands with Italian company Piaggio Vespa and later launched several good scooters like Select, Supremo, Vespa NV3, Star and Sensation. However, for a long time, no products of this indigenous two-wheeler company have come into the market. With the fast-changing times, LML will now launch its products in a new avatar that will directly compete with electric scooters like Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1.
