The wait is finally over as Mahindra Thar Roxx 5-door SUV was officially revealed by Mahindra & Mahindra on Wednesday. The entry-level MX petrol manual variant of the new five-door Thar is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Whereas, the MX diesel manual variant is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra will be revealing more details about Thar Roxx at its launch on August 15 (tomorrow).

The starting price for the Roxx model is around Rs 1.64 lakh above its 3-door version, given its ranking above the compact SUV in the product line-up.

According to Autocar's report, Mahindra has upgraded the base model of Thar Roxx with exciting new features such as LED lights and a dual-tone exterior. It now rides on robust 18-inch steel wheels. The interiors feature a large 10.25-inch touchscreen, push-button start, driver's seat height adjust, 60:40 split-folding rear bench seats, rear AC vents, and a rear USB-C port.

When it comes to safety, the MX1 variant doesn't disappoint, it comes loaded with six airbags, electronic stability control, and also ensures seat belts for all passengers.

This base Roxx variant comes with a 162hp, 330Nm, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a manual gearbox and a 152hp, 330Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine and a manual gearbox.
