Xiaomi has made a significant leap into the electric vehicle (EV) market on Thursday by unveiling its highly anticipated first electric car models. The launch introduced two electric vehicles: the Xiaomi SU7 and Xiaomi SU7Max. “#XiaomiSU7 marks a major milestone as Xiaomi diversifies from smartphones to automotive, enriching the Human x Car x Home smart ecosystem,” the company announced on its social media platform X.

Xiaomi revealed impressive performance statistics for these vehicles. The Xiaomi SU7Max boasts an acceleration from 0-100km/h in just 2.78 seconds, while the XiaomiSU7 achieves the same in 5.28 seconds. The top speeds are equally remarkable, with the SU7 reaching up to 210km/h and the SU7Max up to 265km/h. “#XiaomiSU7 accelerates from 0-100km/h in 2.78 seconds, stepping into the ‘2s Supercar Club’,” shared the company.

Additionally, Xiaomi announced that the new EV models would be available in three colors: Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray, and Verdant Green. The vehicles incorporate five key technologies: E-Motors, batteries, HyperCasting, autonomous driving, and smart cabin technology.

While the pricing details remain undisclosed, estimates suggest the SU7 might be priced between 200,000 and 300,000 yuan (approximately Rs 25 to 35 lakh).

The Xiaomi SU7 is expected to hit the market next year. Production will be undertaken by a BAIC Group unit in a Beijing factory, which boasts an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles.
