With chaos pervading the whole world, is it possible to lead an orderly life? To delve deeper into it, the Karnataka Gathering 2011 is being held by the J Krishnamurti Foundation, which is aimed at getting people to take time off, introspect, and question themselves.

Based on the teachings of J Krishnamurti, the theme has been chosen keeping in mind the current unrest the world is going through.

“There are so many crises that are happening currently. Be it the attacks on Libya or the corruption in India, we want to spread the word that we must not be a part of it and add to the already existing chaos,” said Satish Inamdar, director, Valley School, Krishnamurti Foundation India.

In this gathering, the organisers propose to examine how disorder comes about. The right response to local and global events is possible if we understand the psychological divisions and fragmentation of thought that is behind our actions.

These divisions not only exist in our relationship with the society, but also within oneself. “Although we have achieved enough in many spheres, we need to understand our personal relationship with nature,” he added.

The event is open to anyone who wishes to learn about living. It is open to all age groups, though  a 45+ age group takes part in it usually. Most of the sessions will be conducted in Kannada. “The younger generation too should question themselves," he said.
