Bangalore HC notices to CID, BBMP

The high court, on Monday, issued notices to the state government, criminal investigation department (CID) and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking a direction to the CID to investigate alleged illegalities and misappropriation of funds in various civil works in the 28 divisions of the civic body from 2005 till date.

K Ramesh and others had filed the PIL seeking a CID probe into public works related to roads, drains, lakes, forests, horticulture parks and playgrounds, and file appropriate criminal proceedings against those officials and contractors who have been guilty of irregularities and illegalities and misappropriation of funds.
