Brush up your air guitar skills, do some neck exercises and fill up your lighters — the biggest act in heavy metal performs in Bangalore today.

With the Gurgaon gig having been cancelled due to hooliganism, there is renewed interest in Metallica’s performance in Bangalore.

A top official and three team members of DNA Networks (no connection whatsoever with the paper you are reading) were put behind bars on Saturday for cancelling the event without informing the police, but that has had no bearing on the Bangalore show. In fact, ticket sales have zoomed after the event was cancelled in Gurgaon.

A hard-core Metallica fan, Kunal Chouhan, told DNA from Delhi: “My four friends and I purchased the tickets for Bangalore online immediately after the Gurgaon gig was cancelled.”

To prevent a rerun of Gurgaon, around 1,000 policemen have been deployed to maintain the crowd — the organisers expect a 20,000-strong crowd at Palace Grounds on Sunday. Ticket sales will be open till the venue goes house-full. Eager fans were seen milling around the concert venue on Saturday night, which means that the venue could be jam-packed. The gates open at 3 pm and Metallica will come on stage by 8 pm.

Don’t forget those skull rings.
