A day after the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) pulled down the compound wall and part of the ramp of the Mantri Square mall on Sampige Road, commuters continued to suffer traffic snarls on the thoroughfare.

The problem may persist for another month as Mantri Developers have sought a month’s time for removing the ramp stating that any haphazard work might damage their structure.
Meanwhile, men hired by Mantri Developers were on Thursday busy dismantling the cables running under the ramp. “We have taken up the dismantling of the cables . The work went on till evening and it will resume tomorrow,” said Mantri Developers vice-president Kiran Kumar VG.
Kumar said he had submitted all the documents and details pertaining to the BBMP demolition to the legal authorities of the company. “I’ve submitted the details on the demolition and they will consider the future course of action. We’ve also deployed more security to guard the mall and Mantri Greens apartments whose residents had complained of insecurity after the wall was pulled down. We have ordered for new gates as the gate was demolished,” Kumar said.
