The second season of the show aims to foster investment education and provide valuable tips on financial planning to the public.

Out of thousands of entries, over a hundred were short-listed and given the task of trading in real financial markets with real money for duration of four weeks.

The best performers were then selected to represent their cities in the race to be crowned India’s Smart Investor.

Saturday’s event saw four of the city’s best contestants, Santosh Rao, Rajesh Goli, Nikhil Baljekar and BL Narayana, battle it out for a place in the semi finals.

The contestants were presented with a case study and asked to chalk out the best investment plans for the same. Each contestant was given a five-minute slot to present their financial advice before a three-member jury comprising Sanjay Sinha of Citrus Advisors, chartered accountant K Raghu, and Abhishek Lundkar, an expert in private equity.

In a close contest, surgeon Nikhil Baljekar emerged victorious, with Santosh Rao coming in a close second.

A visibly happy Baljekar said he was eager to make it to the finals, representing Bangalore.

The winner of ‘The Hunt for India’s Smart Investor,’ will walk away with a brand new Chevrolet Beat car.
