Sapna Book House has now been recognised as the country’s largest book showroom by India Book of Records.

Whoever said the book is dead should meet Suresh C Shah of Sapna Book House, whose three words say it all: “No, its not.”
“The fact is, the reading habit is on the rise,” Shah says, and the tremendous growth of Sapna Book House only vindicates him.

Sapna Book House has now been recognised as the country’s largest book showroom by India Book of Records.

Speaking at a press conference, Shah said, “Sapna is today a brand name that is synonymous with books. It is the only place in India where you can find over one lakh titles on a variety of topics under one roof.”

The five branches of Sapna Book House are spread over a total area of 1,50,000 sq feet. The Gandhinagar branch itself is a sprawling 40,000 sq ft showroom.

“There are at least 30,000 titles in Kannada,” said Dodde Gowda, the Kannada section in-charge at the Gandhinagar branch.

“Shah’s love for the language has ensured that we release books in Kannada, everyday. It is only here that you can find books like Mookajjiya Kanasu by Shivaram Karanth, TaRaSu’s Durgasthamana, Rao Bahadur’s Gramayana and Kannada translations of LK Advani’s My Country, My Life and Narendra Modi’s Shikshanave Jeevana all under one roof,” he said.
