BJP legislator G Somashekara Reddy has reportedly complained to the chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda that the police have treated his brother Janardhana and the BJP supporters shabbily.
Sources said the chief minister, en route to Koppal, met Somashekara— who is also the president of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF)—at Jindal airport on Friday morning.
Somashekara is said to have complained to the chief minister that the deputy commissioner of Bellary district was acting like an agent of the opposition parties.
Sources close to the KMF president said that he had told the chief minister that the deputy commissioner had asked police to file a case against G Janardhana Reddy, holding him responsible for the violence in Bellary that took place after his arrest.
The police officials did not follow the deputy commissioner’s advice, saying that the case could not be booked because the former minister was in jail when the rampage happened.
Further, the KMF president alleged that the deputy commissioner unnecessarily implicated a BJP corporator and provoked the party’s young leaders such as Diwakar and Sunil Reddy.
Police have registered a case against these two BJP men for
damaging public and private property, whose evidence has been recorded through CCTV camera.
