The IT giant from Bengaluru is all set to have a bakery which is unique. Infosys will now provide space for a bakery that will sell products made by the Bengaluru prison inmates.

A leading daily states that the Additional DGP (Prisons) Kamal Pant has said that the bakery products will be made by the inmates at the Parappana Agrahara penitentiary. This penitentiary is close to Electronic City and it seemed ideal to have a bakery here. According to Pant, it’s the first time that they have had an outlet at an IT company.

As of now, there are 45 outlets in the city that sell the bakery products made from prison inmates in the state. Government offices like the Vidhana Soudha, Karnataka High Court and other places. Baked goodies like frankies, honey cakes, vegetable puffs, biscuits and cookies are likely to be sold here. The staff at the bakery will be prison staff said Pant.

The prison inmates earn money by baking products and many of them turn this into a livelihood once released from prison.
