Bengaluru leopard scare: 130 schools remain shut

The leopard scare in a Bengaluru school has frightened residents.

On Wednesday, there was news that another leopard spotted near VIBGYOR School where a leopard entered on February 7.

The Karnataka state government has asked 130 schools to remain shut on Thursday as a precaution with the sighting of more leopards near schools.

The Forest Department will submit a report on Thursday post a review meeting. The decision on whether the schools can be reopened will be taken post that.

On Wednesday, there was news that another leopard spotted near VIBGYOR School where a leopard entered on February 7.

The feline had escaped and is said to be hiding in the bushes near the school. The forest officials had a tough time attempting to capture the leopard which managed to escape.

Meanwhile, residents in the area have been extremely vigilant and scared, report some dailies.

There were also reports about residents bursting crackers and lighting up bonfires on the stretch of the road near their apartments to prevent the leopard from entering.
