Terming BJP leaders as misfits to rule, the Congress has demanded dissolution of the BBMP. Addressing a rally as part of the programme ‘Congressige Banni, Badalavane Thanni’ at Padmanabha Nagar on Sunday, KPCC president G Parameshwara said, “It is better to dissolve the BBMP as the civic agency has failed miserably in providing basic civic amenities to people.”

Further, he asked chief minister Jagadish Shettar to publish details on utilisation of central funds in each department of the state government instead of questioning the credibility of Sonia Gandhi’s statement that the UPA government has provided about `80,000 crore to Karnataka under various schemes.

Leader of the opposition in legislative assembly, Siddaramaiah, too took exception to Shettar questioning the credibility of Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi’s statement.

“The BJP is a den of corrupt leaders. Already 15 BJP leaders have gone to jail under corruption charges, more will join the list of shame. Jagadish Shettar should stop talking lightly about Sonia Gandhi. Some of the BJP leaders have amassed wealth of hundreds of crores (of rupees). People are disgusted with the BJP’s misrule and are eager to bring Congress back to power,” Siddaramaiah said.

Parameshwara turned his guns at JD(S) too by appealing to the people not to be misled by HD Kumaraswamy.
