The Special Inquiry Squad of the Central Crime Branch has arrested a gang of four for supplying arms to criminals in Bangalore.

The arrested were identified as Bashasaab, 40, a resident of Bijapur; Dilshad, 48, and Mohammed Arif, 30, both natives of Uttar Pradesh; and Dhankaur, 30, a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
They were arrested in the raid that was carried out across the city from September 29 to October 1.

Police have seized 19 pistols, five revolvers and 108 bullets in a haul that might cross more than `50 lakh, police said. The arrested persons used to sell arms in Karnataka and other states. They mainly supplied them to the underworld mafia and rowdies, police said.

They would procure the arms from Pappi, a native of Uttar Pradesh and Gurjeet Singh Bheemsingh Barnala, a native of Madhya Pradesh. The duo is absconding. A case was registered in Ulsoor police station.

Bashasaab Nadaf is a criminal in Chadachana police station of Bijapur district. He is involved in two murders, eight dacoities, and five cases under the Arms Act. Two cases of attempt to murder and four other cases have also been registered against him.

About 20 cases are registered against him in Karnataka and other states, police said.
