H1N1 flu? Blame it on the planets

Saturn and Jupiter must get along and be in mutual agreement to prevent the epidemic say astrologers and gem therapists.

Since the past few days, the city has been in the grip of the swine flu panic and with Bangalore recording its first flu death yesterday, the situation seems to have turned worse.

While the medical fraternity has been coming up with different reasons for the spread of the H1N1 virus, the ‘wise men’ in the city have a completely different take on the issue.

When DNA spoke to the astrologers and gem therapists, they said that it is the planetary position that is largely responsible for the spread of the pandemic. And if you go by what the seers say, it looks like Jupiter and Saturn are the culprits of this situation.

“When Guru (Jupiter) and Shani (Saturn) have their sights on each other, a balance is maintained in the world,” said jyothshi Devendra Bhat. The problem now is that “the planets have lost sight of each other. This is creating a turmoil and is also preventing the discovery of a medicine that can act as a vaccine of swine flu and prevent the spread of the epidemic,” Bhat said.

And it is not only swine flu but diseases like Chikangunya that has become rampant now. The astrologer pointed out that while Chikungunya is treatable, it also does not have a specific medication for its treatment.

But experts said, this is not a unique situation and that every 14 to 15 years, these planets do lose sights of each other. According to Bhat, around September 9, things will indeed get better. “Shani will come forward and his drishti (sight) will fall on Guru. This will ensure that things get better,” he said.

Astrologers explained that the planets Jupiter and Saturn need to get along and be in mutual agreement. Jupiter is compared to jeeva (life) and Saturn to karma (result). But in these changing times, astrologers pointed out that even the planets are confused as new jeevas and karmas are emerging, thus changing the course of life.“Guru will move away again and a similar situation will be created around December next year,” warned Bhat.

But when there is a problem, there is also a solution. So for all who are worried, they can seek solace from gemology. N Chandra Shekhar, popularly known as ‘Gem Chandru’ said that just like other problems, there is a a ‘gem’ answer to the swine flu issue as well.

“Opal helps counter infections, flu, fevers and colds,” said the gem therapist. He went on to advice, “In particular, green opal is best. Then there is fluorite which has seven striped colours. If this stone is stroked across the body, it gives relief from pain,” he said adding that the stone has power to heal sinusitis, colds, mobilise stiff joints, among other things.
