HC disposes of SR Vishwanath’s bail plea

V Sashidhar had filed the private complaint in the Lokayukta court against Vishwanath that he owned three-and-a-half acres at Hesarghatta Sriramanahalli.

The high court on Friday disposed of the anticipatory bail petition filed by BJP legislator SR Vishwanath regarding a private complaint filed at Lokayukta court alleging him of amassing as much as Rs70 crore after entering politics.

The Lokayukta court had disposed of his bail on January 17.

As the case came up for hearing on Friday, the Lokayukta police submitted before the high court that they would not arrest Vishwanath. In the wake of this submission, the high court disposed of his anticipatory bail.

V Sashidhar had filed the private complaint in the Lokayukta court against Vishwanath. He alleged that Vishwanath, besides amassing Rs70 crore, also owned three-and-a-half acres at Hesarghatta Sriramanahalli which belonged to the Karnataka Housing Cooperative Society.
