Hilton in collaboration with leading property player Embassy Group on Thursday launched Hilton Bangalore Embassy GolfLinks at the Embassy GolfLinks. This is Hilton second property in the city and the 13th in the country.

The hotel has 247 studios and suites. The location of the hotel is critical considering that it is located within the Embassy GolfLinks (EGL) Business Park, the hub of several Fortune 500 companies. EGL houses over 40,000 employees. Depending on the demand, the room rates of the hotel ranges from Rs 7,500 to Rs 10,000 per day.

"This is our first foray with hospitality. The fact that the hotel is located inside EGL enhances its value and vice versa," said Jitu Virwani, chairman and managing director, Embassy Group. Virwani is now looking at building two more hotels in collaboration with Hilton for Manyata Embassy Park.

"The combination of the Hilton Hotels and Resort brand with a location as central as EGL will ensure that this property is successful and popular with both local guests as well as domestic and international travellers," said Virwani.

"We are looking at constructing two brands of Hilton at the Embassy -- one upscale and the other midscale. Irrespective of the success or failure of this project, we are going to go ahead with our plans for Embassy," he said.

"Hilton is one of the world's most recognised names in the hotel industry and are very excited to expand our portfolio in India, a very important hospitality market for us," said Daniel Welk, vice president, operations India, Hilton Worldwide.

Welk feels that with the new government at the Centre announcing plans to open more airports, the hospitality industry in the country looks exciting.
"The hospitality industry in India will grow and we are optimistic about it. We have plans to launch more hotels in the country," said Welk.
