It’s time to relax and revise: Experts

As the final round of preparation for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010, to be held between October 27 and November 24, gathers steam, experts advise B-school aspirants to relax and revise.

“It’s time to relax and revise as there are only a few days left for the CAT to begin. Getting tensed will not help the students. They should concentrate more on revising what they have already learned,” said Shiv Kumar, director (academics), Career Launcher, a leading coaching centre in the city.

Experts also suggest the candidates to avoid trying their hands at learning new things as it might create confusion.

“As we have already entered the final lap of the CAT race, the students need to go through the study material that they have already prepared. 

Learning new things now will only help create confusion,” said Ajay Arora, director, TIME, Bangalore. “Students should also use this time to get proper rest. Burdening themselves with stress will not help them,” he said.

Srinivas Belvi, a teacher, who has been coaching CAT aspirants in Bangalore for long, says students should solve as many mock tests as possible during the final run up to the entrance test. “Every day, students must spend at least two-and-a-half hours to attempt online practice papers. This will help them keep the rhythm of solving questions in perfect pace. Also they come in handy in identifying the common mistakes that we commit, and thus can keep them away during the real test,” he said.

Belvi asks students to sleep and rest well. “They should take good care of their health as they can’t fall ill during the exam. Meditation, yoga and other exercises will smooth their frayed nerves,” he said.
