The much awaited final list of the selected and wait-listed candidates for the post-graduate programme (PGP 2010-2012) in management of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B), is out.
The premier business school uploaded the final list of candidates on its official website (www.iimb.ernet.in) recently.
Candidates who made it to the B-school were selected after rounds of personal interviews and assessments of their essays. The institute had scrapped the group discussions round and replaced it with essay writing in the admission process this year.
Around 415 candidates have made it to the prime list under various categories. The prime list has 200 candidates from the general category, 110 from the other backward castes (OBC) category, 60 from the scheduled caste category, 30 from the scheduled tribes category and 15 from the persons with disability (PWD) category.
The institute had short-listed candidates for admission on the basis of results of the Common Admission Test 2009 that were announced on March 7.
From the 1,549 candidates who made it to the IIM-B short-list, only about 400 made it to the first list; 83 candidates have been wait-listed.
Of the wait-listed candidates, 50 are from the general category, 15 are OBC candidates, 10 are SC candidates, 5 are ST candidates and three are PWD candidates.
Official letters were being dispatched to all the selected candidates, IIM-B officials said.
This year, IIM-B has increased the number of seats for its flagship management course from 350 in 2009 to 375 this academic year.
