JD(S) leader PGR Sindhia on Wednesday alleged that senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar was distributing sarees, watches and water cans to lure voters in Kanakapura constituency.

JD(S) leader PGR Sindhia on Wednesday alleged that senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar was distributing sarees, watches and water cans to lure voters in Kanakapura constituency.

Speaking with reporters, he alleged that Shivakumar has started indulging in such electoral malpractices, sensing a JD(S) wave sweeping the constituency.

Sindhia claimed that names of about 5,000 voters belonging to border areas of Tamil Nadu have been illegally added to the voters list in the constituency and he had already lodged a complaint in this regard with the election commission.

He charged bureaucrats who should be checking such malpractices of turning a blind eye to Shivakumar’s doings.

Sindhia stated that he would register a complaint with central Election Commissioner who is visiting the state in the first week of April about the illegalities happening in Kanakapura assembly constituency.

Turning to the BJP, Sindhia said the announcement by the leaders of Bajrang Dal and Srirama Sene of contesting elections on BJP tickets proved that the party was in cahoots with fundamental organisations.

The statement by the sacked Excise minister M P Renukacharya about giving money to former Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda had exposed the true colours of BJP, Sindhia said. “There is along list of such irregularities that has happened during the BJP rule and they will be exposed in the coming days,” he said.
