After former chief ministers Ramakrishna Hegde, J H Patel and H D Kumaraswamy, it is now the turn of DV Sadananda Gowda to adorn the silver screen.
The former CM will be seen essaying a guest role in the Kannada movie Chella Pilli directed by G Saikrishna, who scripted a success story with his tulu film Oriyerdori Asal recently.
In the film, Sadananda Gowda reportedly plays the role of a former chief minister who is invited to inaugurate a toy shop. A sudden change of heart inspires him to let a child present at the shop to do the honours, thereby winning the hearts of many people.
“The scene was not any different than what could have happened in real life if such a situation arises in front of Sadanna” said the director. It was a simple shot which took just about five minutes. And as usual, Gowda was seen in his best smile throughout the shot, he added.
“Though I always fancied going to films, I never thought I would be given this honour. When producer Sudesh Bhandary and Saikrishna persuaded me to act, I could not say no to them” Sadananda Gowda told DNA.
The shooting was held at a mall in the city, where many of the former CM’s BJP colleagues were present to cheer him.
“We want him to make one more appearance in the later part of the film and we are trying to create one more slot in the script. But, we do not know if Sadananda Gowda will agree” said the producer.
Other actors in the film include Vijay Raghavendra and Aishwarya Nag, and the film is slated to be released around April-May.
