Security in Bangalore stepped up after Delhi blast

A detailed meeting was held with the city police chief on the security cover which was later conveyed to the jurisdictional police heads to enforce the measures with immediate effect.

Security has been beefed up in Bangalore after an Israel embassy vehicle went up in flames in Delhi on Monday.

Additional Commissioner of Police, T Suneel Kumar, said that elaborate security arrangements have been made with additional security deployment at sensitive areas including business establishments and residences of Israeli nationals, he said.

“We have asked the jurisdictional police to step up patrolling and keep a tab on suspicious elements,” he said.

Security establishments in major cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore have been alerted by the Centre and directed to beef up arrangements in diplomatic mission premises located in these cities to foil any attempt to target them, official sources said.

An Israeli embassy car exploded in New Delhi on Monday in a suspected terror attack. Four people, including an embassy official, were injured.
