As BS Yeddyurappa’s arm-twisting tactics have failed to fetch him a position of power in the party, his protege, power minister Shobha Karandlaje, is seeking divine intervention to fulfil his wish.

In wee hours of Saturday, Karandlaje visited the historic lord Narasimha and Cheluvanarayana temple at Melkote, in Mandya district, and performed pooja. After the pooja, she told presspersons that she prayed to the almighty for the welfare of Yeddyurappa.

She said she was able to rise in politics only because of Yeddyurappa’s guidance. Stating that he is their leader, she added that she prayed to the god to bring him to power in the party once again and to annihilate all the woes that he was facing.

Reportedly, the power minister stayed in the temple for more than an hour. She visited the temple in a yellow sari along with her well-wishers and relatives. She chanted shlokas and performed pooja.

Karandlaje has been continually visiting various temples in the state after Yeddyurappa had to step down from the post of chief minister. Recently, she climbed the thousand steps of Chamundi Hill in Mysore and prayed to goddess Chamundeshwari.
