DV Sadananda Gowda has said that he would take action against MLAs, MLCs and other VIPs who have been granted more than one BDA site under the chief minister’s discretionary quota.

Showing that he means business and would not flinch even if he needs to take some tough decisions to restore the image of his government, chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda has said that he would take action against MLAs, MLCs and other VIPs who have been granted more than one BDA site under the chief minister’s discretionary quota, which is popularly known as the ‘G’ category sites.

Speaking to media on the sidelines of a function, Gowda said he will not allow misuse of sites being allotted under the chief minister’s discretionary quota. “Those in high posts, who have got allotted more than one ‘G’ category site, should surrender the additional ‘G’ category sites or else we will forcibly take it back,” said Gowda.

Pointing to the fact that a PIL had been filed in the high court against the system of ‘G’ category sites, the chief minister said that he would initiate action based on the court order. “I will not give scope for any controversies on ‘G’ category sites as long as I am the chief minister,” he declared.

Expressing concern at the growing might of the land mafia in the city, Gowda observed that land in Bangalore is being seen as gold and land grabbing had become rampant. “However mighty these land sharks may be, I will not succumb to them. Land mafia will be dealt with sternly,” he assured.
