BANGALORE
DNAfigures out five things to do this weekend in Bangalore.
For kids
Oxford Bookstore, in association with the playschool Jolly Go Kids, is organising a creative workshop — Mask Colouring — for children between four and seven years of age. The fun-filled workshop will focus on the methods of colouring various kinds of masks like animal faces, popular cartoon characters and much more.
“Oxford usually ties up with different organisations to conduct such workshops for children. This time around we have tied up with Jolly Go Kids play school. I will be guiding the kids myself on how to go about colouring various kinds of masks in different techniques,” says Aruna Naidu of Oxford Bookstore.
The session is specially formatted to provide various approaches to nurturing creativity among the young ones. All the materials will be provided at the venue.

A soulful music journey
After the success of their first concert, Evergreen Burmans with Amit Kumar, Maam Entertainment is all set to start another soulful musical journey, Spotlight, this weekend. The first performer who will kick start the event is singer Abhijeet, the famed performer of the 90s.
Talking about the event, Aloke Biswas of Maam Entertainment says, “We are constantly coming up with new events to entertain the people of Bangalore. Spotlight is conceptualised in a manner such that it will bring in singers like Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and others to bring back their magic on the stage. The whole idea behind bringing these singers is to relive the memories of the 90s.”
Through Spotlight, Abhijeet will take us to his world of music, his idols, and also talk about his favourite memories. You will also get to hear songs of other maestros like RD Burman, Kishore Kumar, Hemant Kumar, Manna Dey being rendered live by Abhijeet. Bangalore’s very own Divya Raghavan will be crooning along with him. The tickets are priced at Rs300 onwards.
