The shooting of film 'Sherni' had reportedly stopped after its lead actress Vidya Balan refused to go to dinner hosted by Madhya Pradesh minister

Various news reports had stated that the shooting of the film 'Sherni' had come to a halt in Madhya Pradesh. According to the reports, this happened after the lead actor Vidya Balan refused to attend Madhya Pradesh foreign  minister Vijay Shah's invitation for dinner.

Shah on Sunday refuted reports that he had allegedly stopped the shooting of a film, starring Vidya Balan in Balaghat.

"I was there (Balaghat) on request from those who took permission for the shoot and requested me for lunch or dinner. I said not possible now, I will meet them when I go to Maharashtra. Lunch or dinner was cancelled, the shoot was not," Shah said.

The shoot was reportedly cancelled after Vidya Balan turned down reports stating she would have dinner with him, earlier this month.

Vehicles of the production team of Balan's upcoming movie were also allegedly stopped from entering a forest for shooting.

Reportedly, District Forest Officer (DFO) of Balaghat allowed only two vehicles in the forest, where the team was expected to shoot. The incident reportedly tok place only a day after Vidya allegedly refused the dinner invite.

Vidya Balan had recently resumed shooting for her film 'Sherni'. It is the first project she took up in months since the COVID-19 lockdown was announced.

The actress had arrived in Madhya Pradesh for the shooting two weeks back. A few scenes in the movie have been set for shooting in the forest areas of MP.
