The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday approached a special NDPS court and filed a petition seeking the cancellation of comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa's bail in drugs nexus case.
Besides this, NCB has also urged the court to allow custodial interrogation of the couple by setting aside the lower court's order.
Meanwhile, the court has sent a notice to Bharti and Haarsh and the next hearing in the case is likely to take place next week.
Earlier, Mumbai's Esplanade Court had sent the couple to 14-day judicial custody but they were later granted bail in the drugs nexus case on November 23.
For the uninitiated, Bharti and her husband Haarsh had been arrested by the NCB on November 21 and November 22 respectively. Both had accepted consumption of ganja.
On November 21, the Narcotics Control Bureau raided the production office and house of the comedian and from both the places 86.5 gms of marijuana was recovered.
Before Bharti and Haarsh's arrest, the NCB had earlier raided a place in Khar Danda area and nabbed a trafficker aged 21 years with various drugs including 15 blots of LSD (commercial quantity), ganja (40 grams), and Nitrazepam (psychotropic medicines). In follow up and in corroboration with previous inputs, the NCB raided the production office and house of comedian Bharti Singh.
