Fans got a hint of Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul's relationship when designer Vikram Phadnis teasingly referenced it on social media. Vikram partially confirmed it all. He made headlines with his series of comments teasing the actress with the cricketer. 

In December 2019 the couple gave fans a glimpse of their growing romance. The couple rang in the New Year in Thailand. They shared a cosy Instagram post together. This post gave the first public acknowledgement of their relationship, and fans were quick to accept them with love.

In 2021, KL Rahul made their relationship official with a heartwarming Instagram post that featured a candid photo of the two of them. Athiya's decision also met the support of her father, actor Suniel Shetty. 

In January 2023, Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul got married at Suniel's farmhouse at Khandala. The wedding was a low-key affair, an intimate ceremony graced by family and close friends.
