Teachers play an important part in our lives. They are the first adults we meet outside of our family who teach us intellectual and life lessons that help us reach our full potential. In some of its films, Bollywood has succeeded in portraying the position of a teacher. Some movies about teachers have made people on the edge of their seats, from making them laugh to having them cry.
Here are some movies you can binge on Teacher’s Day-
1. Hichki
The film is about a woman who has Tourette syndrome but yet wants to be a teacher. Naina (Rani Mukharjee) proves everyone incorrect by grasping the complexities of the scenario and the extent to which the disease will damage her profession. However, she ends herself in an exclusive school where she is assigned to a group of pupils from a low-income family. The students are rebellious, undisciplined, and disrespectful of Naina, but she manages to teach them in the best way she can.
2. Black
Michelle, played by Rani Mukerji, is a young girl who lost her sight and hearing at a young age. Her impairments make her a frustrated and frequently angry child. Debraj (Amitabh Bachchan) is a loving but tough teacher who not only educates Michelle but also helps her discover the joys of life through unconventional means.
3. Taare Zameen Par
Ishaan (Darsheel Safary) is an 8-year-old dyslexic boy who struggles in a traditional classroom setting. His parents, unaware of his condition, decide to send him to a boarding school in order to discipline him and make him a better student. Ishaan forms a rapport with Ram (Aamir Khan), his painting teacher, who not only recognises his condition but also helps him conquer his fears and concerns.
4. Super 30
The film depicts Anand Kumar, a brilliant mathematician from Bihar. The mathematician launches a training programme called 'Super 30' to assist 30 IIT students from low-income families. The film depicts a close link between instructors and students, as well as the efforts made by teachers to assist their students in reaching their full potential.
5. Paathshaala
It is a 2010 Indian drama film directed by Milind Ukey and starring Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, Shraddha Arya, Ali Haji, Sushant Singh, and Nana Patekar. The plot centres around students on a school grounds. It criticises the Indian educational system and its flaws. Kapoor portrays a music and English teacher.
