Many 90s actresses left the industry at the peak of their careers for marriage. Another such actress, who gave hits with superstars like Rajinikanth, Salman Khan and worked with Govinda, quit acting and the country and is now the mother of three kids. She is none other than Rambha.

Rambha, born as Vijayalakshmi Yeedi, was one of the prominent actresses in Indian cinema in the 1990s and early 2000s. In her career spanning over almost two decades, Rambha had appeared in more than 100 films across eight languages.

Rambha left her studies at the age of 15 to become an actress and made her debut in the Malayalam film Sargam opposite Vineeth. The film performed well at the box office, and she was spotted by director E. V. V. Satyanarayana who then cast her in the Telugu film Aa Okkati Adakku.

Rambha then went on to make her career in South cinema. She starred opposite superstars like Thalapathy Vijay, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, and others and gave several hits like Hitler, Ganesh, Aanandham, Three Roses, and more.

Talking about being called ‘sex bomb’ Rambha told Rediff, “I do like the label, but I want people to see me as a cute, attractive and glamourous heroine. Yes, I did wear swimsuits in my films, but that's a job I had to do.”

Rambha made her grand Bollywood debut in Mithun Chakraborty’s Jallad which failed at the box office. Her first hit in Bollywood came with Salman Khan in Judwaa. She also starred in Bandhan along with the superstar and even that was a hit. However, rest of her films failed at the box office.

When Rambha was at the peak of her career, she got married to Indrakumar Pathmanathan, a Canada-based Sri Lankan Tamil businessman in 2010. After this, the actress quit acting and also left India. They are settled in Toronto and have two daughters and a son.
