In 2019, during India's tour of England, before the warm-up game, when Virat was asked how different it was to be playing for the team before marriage and after it? Virat Kohli had said, "You become responsible, that is what I feel. Before you have a responsibility in your life but that is very different. You start understanding things better (after marriage) and start putting things into perspective a lot more. From that point of view, I have become more responsible and that helps you in captaincy as well. It has only improved my captaincy as a human being and player outside."

During an interview with Filmfare post her marriage, Anushka Sharma had said Virat Kohli and she clicked because the two of them are honest. "His honesty is something I deeply value. I'm an honest person and have suffered on account of that. He’s brutally honest too. I’m so happy that I met someone like him because we both lead our lives with complete honesty. It’s so transparent and clean. I have a life partner with whom nothing is pretentious. Everything is real. Also, the fact that we both support each other. He's someone, who's constantly trying to get better professionally and as an individual. I'm also like that. We don’t take ourselves so seriously. We're similar as people. That's why we get along,” she said.

Virat Kohli also said, "If I hadn't met Anushka I might not have changed as I was not an open person and was very rigid and she's made me change as a person for good".
