The 102 Not Out superstars are using Gen-Now lingo to promote the film

Crooning Yaara samajh le ishara, kya bole tumba, masti mein ji le zumba zumba, Badumbaaa...’, ‘Daddy Cool’ Amitabh Bachchan tries convincing his not-so-cool son, Rishi Kapoor, to live life to the fullest. That’s some solid advice from a 102-year-young father to his 75-year-old son resigned to the drudgery of old age. While their banter in the upcoming film 102 Not Out will go down in the annals of history, as the two actors team up after 27 long years, their off-screen chemistry is also the stuff of legends.

How über cool these superstars are in real life, with their knack for capturing audiences’ imagination with dynamic performances, social media savviness, unique film projects, and their history together, is well known. No wonder, these extraordinary actors have discarded clichés and are highlighting their upcoming collaboration with quirky videos. In their inimitable fashion, the two actors have hit the right note with millennials, with their videos. The recent one, in which Big B is showing RK how to pout and take selfies, has gone viral across popular digital platforms.

Interestingly, for the song that they have both sung, the Badumbaaa hook step, too, has caught on with the masses, with fans sending in their videos of the dance on social media. Talking about his lead actors’ enthusiasm, director Umesh Shukla says, “Bachchan sir and Rishiji might be senior actors, but their vibe was youthful. Both are extremely spontaneous and their infectious energy would always make the sets lively and energetic too.”

Sources, who have seen the rushes, reveal that the father-son relationship portrayed is something everyone will relate to, and this is one of their best onscreen pairings so far.

A Sony Pictures Releasing International Presentation and Worldwide Distribution, 102 Not Out, produced by SPE Films India, Treetop Entertainment and Umesh Shukla’s Benchmark Pictures, releases on May 4.
