Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 is all geared up to set the screens on fire tomorrow. Ever since the film was announced, fans have been waiting to catch the two superstars together on the big screen. Akshay, who is essaying the role of an antagonist in the film shared a picture of his character on his Instagram page, reminding his fans to be ready to flock the theatres in large numbers tomorrow. This is the first time that Akshay has revealed the full look of his character to his fans.
For his role as the villain, Akshay Kumar had to go throw a tedious process of applying prosthetics. The 51-year old superstar who has done a lot of commendable roles in his illustrious career had to sit through a three-and-a-half-hours of a gruelling procedure of applying the prosthetics and another two-annd-a-half hours to get it removed. He went through this process for 38-40 days, reports the Quint.
In an interview to the same website, Akshay had spoken extensively about his prosthetics and make up. “When you are shooting with prosthetics all over your body, the pores on your skin can't breathe because there is no oxygen since your whole body is packed. So, for the five to six hours that I used to shoot, all the sweat used remain inside my body. When they use to remove the whole thing, I used to smell of sweat.”, he said to the Quint.
He further added, “You were not allowed to eat after putting on prosthetics because your body has to be intact, as the bodysuit has been made according to your size. Plus you have to be on liquid diet. Only milkshakes, juices and water were allowed,” he said. The actor had also revealed that, the entire make up process has made him calmer and patient in real life.
It is for the first time that the Khiladi of Bollywood will be sharing the screen space with the southern superstar, Rajinikanth. The film directed by S.Shankar is reportedly made on a whopping budget of Rs 543 crore which is the highest for any Indian movie. It also stars Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in vital roles. The film is dwelling under mammoth expectations of the fans of both the superstars and hopes to stand true to them when it hits the screens tomorrow.
