Filmmaker Shankar’s magnum opus 2.0, which hits screens in less than a week, has generated immense buzz because of the first-time union between superstars Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar and the latter’s unique look. While the team has opted for low-key promotions, letting the film work its magic at the ticket windows, they plan to now launch its first and only track titled Endhira Logathu Sundariye.
A LARGER-THAN-LIFE NUMBER
Reportedly, the makers have spent a whopping Rs 20 crore just on the song. A source claims, “This is by far the biggest track ever made in Indian cinema, in terms of scale and budget. As this is the only number in the film, Shankar wanted it to stand out. AR Rahman, who has given the background score, has composed its music.”
Bosco Martis, who has conceptualised it, says, “It has been shot in 3D. The whole process of filming it was exciting because we could explore so much. The moves are quite dramatic and it captures the vibe of the sci-fi. Shankar sir knew exactly what he wanted.”
He adds, “We filmed it over a span of 10 days. Four massive sets were erected for the same. The track will show the budding romance between two robots.”
ONLY RAJINI AND AMY
The love track will feature Thalaiva Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson’s characters (who play robots). Bosco says, “The way Rajini sir functions is incredible. He is always attentive and ready to learn new things. Although dance may not be his forte, he never questioned me or insisted that any of the steps should be changed. His professionalism is admirable.” Talking about Amy, he adds, “She is hardworking and came to the set thoroughly prepared. Though the dance style was out of her comfort zone, she executed it well.”
