Abhishek Bachchan reveals he observed Karva Chauth fast for wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but forgot THIS one thing

Actor Abhishek Bachchan is not just a doting father, a responsible son, but also a loving husband who fasts for his wife. 

Yes, the 'Breathe: Into the Shadows' actor recently kept the Karva Chauth fast for his wife, former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, which was celebrated on November 4.

However, this isn't the first time Abhishek observed the fast for wife Aishwarya. Last year too, they both fasted for each other.

Though tradition has it that women observe a day-long fast for the good health, prosperity and long-life of their husbands and break it after seeing the moon in the night sky, it has been seen that some husbands too fast for their wives, as a sweet gesture to express their love and gratitude to their life-partners. 

Talking about Karva Chauth and spending the evening with his family and by his wife's side, Abhishek Bachchan in a recent interview to KoiMoi said, “We were both busy working the whole day and then in the evening, the ladies do their pooja. In the night they wait for the Chand and do the pooja and break the fast. It was just that – a nice quiet family affair.”

Adding to this, Abhishek's little co-star in the upcoming film 'Ludo' Inayat Verma told the portal, "Abhishek bhaiya ne mujhe bataya tha ki unhone fast rakha tha toh wo sargi karna bhul gaye the subah uthke. Toh unhone kuch bhi nai khaya that (Abhishek told me that he had kept the fast, but forgot to wake up in the morning for the sargi ritual. So, he ate nothing the entire day.”

Earlier, on November 1, Abhishek had shared a sweet message for Aishwarya on the occasion of the latter's birthday, on his Instagram handle. He wrote, "Happy birthday Wifey. Thank you for everything! All that you do for us and mean to us. May you always smile and be happy. We love you eternally. I love you (sic)."

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have worked together a few films such as 'Kuch Naa Kaho', 'Umrao Jaan', 'Guru' and 'Raavan'. 

The two tied the knot in 2007 and have a daughter, Aaradhya, who was born in 2011.

On the work front, Abhishek, who made his digital debut with the Amazon Prime Video series Breathe: Into The Shadows earlier this year, will be seen in Anurag Basu’s 'Ludo' that is all set for release on Netflix on November 12. 

The film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pankaj Tripathi.
