Akshay Kumar has seen phases of success and failure in his 30 years of career. Off lately, the actor is going through a low phase with back-to-back duds. Recently, the actor made a big statement, saying that when his films don't work, few people in the film industry get 'happy' about it.

While promoting his new film, Sarfira, with Galatta Plus, Akshay spoke about his failure and how people received it. When the interviewer asked if he feels the scrutiny is higher on someone like him because he’s one of the top stars, Akshay agreed, and said, “Yeah, it is there. People love seeing it when three-four-five films don’t work. People (in the industry) love seeing it. I’ve seen it myself. Inka ye picture nahi chala (His picture didn’t work), other people are happy.” He advised, "Don’t put others down. I see it in politics, I see it in my own industry. Ek hero dusre hero ko gaali deta hai, director usko gaali deta hai, producer uss hero ko gaali deta hai (everybody is calling each other names). I just fail to understand why you all are abusing each other. There is so much of energy that is just going waste.”

The Sooryavanshi actor further added that he has seen this about his films not working. The actor revealed that he thinks everybody should just keep on working hard. "Films not doing well, doing well is beside the point. My father has taught me that. A lot of people will come and give you advice, you follow your own instinct and go straight. Always be a producer’s man; take his pain when a film doesn’t work,” The Kesari actor said.

Ever since Akshay's Samrat Prithviraj was released, he was criticised for not investing much time in a film. Speaking about the same, he said, "I don’t want to get into the details of who started this, because it starts from somewhere. It starts with somebody who doesn’t like you. That’s how it starts, they pick one or two things… Now remember what they used to say earlier? They used to say, ‘Akshay’s films don’t take long; he comes on time and leaves on time’. I used to do 17 films at a time, and they used to be released within eight months; that’s how efficient I was considered… But now, when films don’t work, they say that I don’t devote enough time.”
