Pooja Hegde, whose last Bollywood film was Housefull 4 has bagged another Sajid Nadiadwala-produced film. Yes, we are talking about Salman Khan starrer Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali which is being helmed by Farhad Samji. When the announcement was made about the superstar's forthcoming film, the makers hadn't announced the female lead and now finally they have a name. Pooja has become a household name down South and her last outing was Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
Talking about making her a part of Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, Sajid told Mumbai Mirror, "Having worked with Pooja in Housefull 4, we felt she was a perfect fit for this film. She has an amazing screen presence and will make for a good pair with Salman. They will bring freshness to the story."
He also shared, "Judwaa was one of Salman and Bollywood’s first Eid releases. Even my directorial debut, Kick, opened during the festival."
While a source told the tabloid, "His lady love is a traditional small-town girl who is the polar opposite of Salman’s character. Pooja has played small town roles down South in films like Mukunda, and hence the makers found her apt for the role. There’s a beautiful mature love story between the two characters, and Pooja’s track acts as the catalyst to the plot."
Meanwhile, Salman won't kickstart Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali before the last quarter of 2020. The film is hitting the screens during Eid 2021. The superstar's next film is Radhe which is releasing during Eid this year. While Pooja is currently filming for Jaan opposite Prabhas.
