Kangana Ranaut's recent comment on Alia Bhatt's Gully Boy performance grabbed many eyeballs. Here's how Alia responded to Kangana's statement.

Recently, Kangana Ranaut launched a fresh attack on Alia Bhatt by calling her performance in Gully Boy as 'mediocre'. It so happened that BollywoodLife had run a poll recently, asking fans to vote for the best performance by a female actor in 2019 so far. Kangana won the poll with 37% votes for Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi while Alia stood second at 33% votes. When the entertainment portal asked Kangana to respond on the poll, she replied by not-so-good comments for Alia's role in Gully Boy.

Kangana stated, "I am embarrassed...What is there to beat in Gully Boy performance ....same snappy muh phat girl... Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media have taken filmy kids love too far. Stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised."

During the promotions of Kalank, Bollywood Hungama asked Alia about Kangana's this statement. To which the 26-year-old actor said, "I respect Kangana’s work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way she must have reason to feel that way. I would rather remember how much she had praised me after watching Raazi. And I’d just like to focus on my work. Maybe she will appreciate me again if I work hard enough."

Earlier, Kangana had blamed Alia and other stars for asking her to attend the premieres of their films and boycotting the screening of her films. She also recently called out Alia and Ranbir Kapoor for being apolitical and called them irresponsible for not voicing their opinions on politics and social issues.
