Alia Bhatt wears saree depicting entire Ramayana to Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya, see pics

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were among the galaxy of top stars from the cine world who descended upon Ayodhya for the grand Ram Mandir consecration event on Monday morning. The actor couple touched down in the city amid heavy security on Monday morning, making their way to the event venue near the temple premises. The two were wearing traditional Indian clothes and what caught fans’ eye was the Ramayana motifs on Alia’s saree.

In pictures posted by paparazzi and fan clubs from the Mumbai and Ayodhya airports, Ranbir can be seen in a white dhoti-kurta, while Alia is wearing a teal saree. While the saree does not have any print or design on it, the border contains motifs linked to major events from the Ramayana.

This was noticed by many fans once the pictures were shared on social media. Sharing the closeup pictures of Alia’s saree on Twitter (now called X), one fan wrote, “Alia Bhatt is wearing a saree that has the entire Ramayan depicted on it through motifs.”

Interestinngly, Alia’s husband Ranbir Kapoor – who is with her in Ayodhya – is playing Lord Ram in his next, an adaptation of Ramayana being directed by Dangal and Bawaal-fame Nitesh Tiwari. The film also reportedly stars Kannada superstar Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Alia had been linked to the role of Sita in the film late last year before reports emerged that the makers opted for Pallavi instead.

The Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya is being performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of political elite along with major Hindu religious leaders and celebs from across India. Among those present in Ayodhya include Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Virat Kohli, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Ram Charan, Chiranjeevi, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Ravindra Jadeja, along with Ranbir and Alia.
