Actor Alok Nath's wife Ashu Alok Nath, on Saturday, approached the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate court and has filed a defamation case against the filmmaker, the writer and TV producer who recently alleged that Alok Nath had allegedly sexually assaulted and raped her in the 90s.
After the entire #metoo drive, the woman too mentioned about her own experience of sexual harassment which Alok Nath had allegedly committed. She mentioned the same on the social networking site.
Alok Nath's wife's complaint said that her husband has been defamed and that it has reflected on their reputation and thus have requested the court to initiate an appropriate step against her.
The filmmaker on her social networking site had said, "I hadn't just been raped, I was taken to my own house and had been brutalized," she had written in the reference to the 'most sanskari person in the industry'.
She was the writer and producer of TV serial Tara in the 90s. Nath played a lead role in the soap.
In the wake of allegations, the Indian Film and Television Directors' Association (IFTDA) issued a notice to the veteran actor, seeking his stand on the rape allegations made against him.
The #MeToo movement gained momentum in India after Tanushree Dutta accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of alleged harassment. Following the revelation, similar cases have tumbled out, rattling the media industry.
