Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-starrer Gadar 2 is on the verge of beating Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and the movie has already collected Rs 482 crore till now. Despite the blockbuster success, Sakeena aka Ameesha Patel doesn't want to be a part of Gadar 3.
While speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha Patel said that fans of Gadar have missed Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakeena's bonding in the film, and as seasoned actors they took a backseat so that Utkarsh could shine. Ameesha said, "They want to see Tara and Sakeena more together. This time we had to be selfless actors and give Tara-Sakeena moments a backseat because we had to focus on making a different kind of film. Sakeena cannot go and get caught in Pakistan yet again. Neither could Tara take her to Pakistan again and put her in danger, knowing that she is Ashraf Ali’s daughter. That’s why the first half belonged to me and the second half to Sunny. We said we are okay as we do understand that as seasoned actors.”
Ameesha further added that director Anil Sharma was 'smart' enough to put Utkarsh under the umbrella of Tara-Sakeena, as his first film Genius was a washout at the box office. As per the media reports, Ameesha made a surprising comment about Gadar 3. She told the portal that she would make it clear during the narration that if there weren't much of Tara-Sakeena moments, she would refuse to reprise her role in Gadar 3. Ameesha made a comparison of Gadar's Tara-Sakeena with the Hollywood blockbuster Titanic, and said, "You cannot have Titanic without Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. Because of this, the NRI audiences haven’t caught on to the film like they did for part 1."
Anil Sharma-directed Gadar 2 also stars Simrat Kaur, and Manish Wadhwa in pivotal roles. Gadar 2 is the direct sequel to the 2001 all-time blockbuster Gadar- Ek Prem Katha.
