Yami Gautam said that OMG 2 and Gadar 2 could be India's example of Barbheimer, and she has a special activity planned to support Sunny Deol's Gadar 2.

OMG 2 actress Yami Gautam opened up about her film clashing with the much-awaited, Sunny Deol-starrer Gadar 2. This Independence Day, Anil Sharma's directorial Gadar 2 will release with Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2. Some may call it a clash, others might call it a festive period for the box office. Two distinct movies with different genres, with the biggest stars, releasing on a national holiday weekend, this clash can be proven to be Indian Barbheimer (The term used for recent hits Barbie and Oppenheimer, which were released on the same day).

Recently Yami interacted with the media, and when she was asked about the so-called clash of OMG 2 with Gadar 2, Yami revealed that she's a fan of Sunny Deol, and supported Gadar 2. "I have a picture of (Gadar 2) cutout with the hand pump, I will post it, and will wish Sunny sir. We all are his fans, and we all love him. We all have watched Gadar (Ek Prem Katha) in theatres, and I am wishing, the more the better for the audience. Gadar 2 has its own audience, we have our own audience. I hope the audience watches both films." Yami further hoped that Gadar 2 and OMG 2 will be India's example of the recent internet phenomenon Barbheimer. "Just like the recent two Hollywood films released on the same day, and they both did really well. (They)  had their own audience. So I hope the same happens here."

OMG 2 will be Yami Gautam's first theatrical release after the lockdown. The actress had four consecutive hits on OTT (A Thursday, Dasvi, Lost, and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga). Speaking about OMG 2, the upcoming movie is the spiritual successor of the 2012 super-hit film Oh My God! (OMG). The film is led by Akshay Kumar, playing a Doot (messenger) of the Lord Shiva with Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in primary roles. The film will release in cinemas on August 11.
